ONE LAST ORDER

Status: In Post-Production

At Mac’s Drive-Thru in Gainesville, Florida, an ordinary day is about to become unforgettable. After 37 years of serving the community with a smile, Sighle Williams – the beloved, quick-witted voice who remembers your order before you do – is working her final shift.

But this isn’t just a farewell; Mac’s owner, Ron, has a surprise. Every dollar earned on the day will go straight to Sighle. It’s a heartfelt gesture for an employee who’s turned going through a drive-thru window into a legendary experience. Sighle represents a vanishing era: a time when a job at a local business could sustain a life and create connections across generations. Our story follows her from the eve of her last day and weaves together the stories of her co-workers, like Malay, the daughter of Thai immigrants finding her footing, and Brandon, who started flipping burgers as a teenager and now dreams of a bigger future at Mac’s. Even John, the former owner, returns to work the grill one last time. Together, they reflect the shifting landscape of the American workplace, where low wages, automation, and corporate expansion have dimmed the dream of a sustainable future for many.

As word spreads, the town rallies. Cars line up for hours, each customer carrying a Sighle story of their own. The scene is electric, a town united to honor a woman who has made fast food feel personal. ONE LAST ORDER is a short documentary that captures the laughter, nostalgia, and warmth of one extraordinary goodbye. With 1 in 8 Americans having worked in fast food, her story echoes far beyond Gainesville. Through touching and hilarious moments, this film celebrates a rare kind of connection and reminds us of the power of kindness, even in the most routine places.
