After an incredible six-month impact tour across Kenya, Beneath the Tides is heading to Europe!

The collection, featuring five short films (Stero by Millan Tarus & Tevin Kimathi, Mawimbi by Mark Wambui, Baba by Mbithi Masya, Ziwa by Samuel Tebandeeke, and Inheritance by Barbara Minishi) first had its Kenyan Premiere and theatrical run in March 2024 before travelling to Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, and Nairobi.

Supported by HEVA Fund, Alliance Française Nairobi, the French Embassy in Kenya, and Creation Africa, the project brought cinema directly to communities, schools, and cultural spaces sparking conversations around identity, and belonging.

Now, Beneath the Tides continues its journey to Germany, where Kino Lichtblick Berlin will host a special theatrical run featuring four screenings between October 28 and November 5.

Each screening offers new audiences a chance to experience these African stories on the big screen, stories that began in local conversations and now resonate on an international stage.
