JULIANA KABUA JOINS THE LBX AFRICA FAMILY

We are so excited to officially introduce Juliana Kabua who joined the LBx Africa team as Producer this month.

Juliana may be a familiar face to some of you in the industry. She is a producer and alumni of Ouaga Film Lab, Durban Film Mart & Rotterdam Lab (IFFR) where she has presented one of her feature films- Conversations With My Mother. Ten O’clock, a short film she has produced, premiered in April 2019 In the Competition for the Young African FilmMakers Award at the Afrika Film Festival in Leuven, Belgium. The film was also screened In Competition at PÖFF Shorts Film Festival 2019 in Estonia. Amongst other films she has produced are Ziwa (2021) & Disk (2022), short films that have been funded by Docubox, an EastAfrican film fund organization, under their short film initiative & Some Fine Day Pix, through the German Government Initiative, respectively. 

She has also worked as a line producer and production manager where she has produced infomercials, commercials, online web series, short documentaries, and live shows for renowned brands in Kenya and Africa. 

She also contributes towards capacity building initiatives as a project manager of the Great Lakes Creative Producers Lab that admits emerging producers from East Africa. The lab is a project accelerator that aims at broadening the professional experience and creative producing expertise of participants through a series of hands-on workshops and one-on-one sessions with local and international industry mentors.
