We are super excited to get No Simple Way Home on the road and have more people watch the film.
Making history as the first South Sudanese film to premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival this February was a major feat and we intend to build up on that momentum.
On 15th March, No Simple Way Home had its French premiere at the prestigious Cinema du Reel Festival. Director, Akuol de Mabior and Producer, Sam Soko attended the in-person festival in Paris. Softie the Film also screened at the festival. We then had the Latin premiere of No Simple Way Home in Colombia at the Cartagena International Film Festival (FICCI) on 18th March.
Our next stop was Copenhagen for the film’s Danish premiere at the influential Copenhagen International Documentary Festival (CPH:Dox). No Simple Way Home was scheduled to screen on 28th March 2022 and 3rd April.
What we look forward to next is our North American premiere at the San Francisco International Film Festival from April 21st, followed shortly by the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival from April 28th.
Bringing the film back home to South Sudan is a top priority for us and we are actively working towards this. We hope to have an official update soon.
In the meantime, look out for real time updates on upcoming festivals in your city through the film’s social media handles.
